WEEK THREE PROMPT
Along the way, it is sometimes difficult to determine the next step. One wrong step can end your Camino. Along your way, how do you determine your next step when the path ahead is difficult?

Prayer…a continual conversation and trust in God that He always has and will be there as I travel along the path…good, bad, and indifferent…and talking with the trusted people in my life. As I pray, I also just keep putting one foot in front of the other along the path unless and until the path widens, changes, or forks.
Trust in the Lord and lean not on your understanding…..Proverbs 3:5&6. Haven’t a clue to your aching feet. The path you’ve traveled getting to this point has been long. As you pray may God’s will keep you on path that He has set aside for you.
one step at a time
That is the best way. It just seems there are times when even that one is a difficult choice.
But would you rather be stuck or keep moving?
Washington you faith and courage. trust in the Hands of the Lord. I have been walking my trail to Santiago from the Netherlands. all went allright. I used walkingpoles, maybe thats why 🤗
For 13 years I almost every year walked a part of the Camino. 2010 Netherlands, crossing Belgium. 2011-2012 northern France. 2014 Bray sur Somme-Paris, and later in 2015, 2016 2017, 2018 further on to Tours. 2019 Tours-Bordeaux 2021 Bordeaux-SJPDP, 2022 SJPDP-Leon, 2023 Leon-Santiago/Finisterre. in between during Coronatime I walked in the Netherlands the Pieterpad trail, 500 km in 3 weeks. i also did several charitywalks. 2019- people with brain damage, 2021- Salvation Army, 2022 a silence retreatcentre in hospital. 2023 a charitatieve walk for people with ALS disease.
This year september I will be walking the trail from Florence to Rome, St Francis of Assisi. Only had problems with blisters last years.
You will be allright, you will manage, keep the faith
Buen Camino,
Margreet
What an amazing journey. So far I’ve kept the blisters at bay.
I would like to say I start with thoughtful prayer, but that would be untrue. I usually plunge right in, but so far my Camino hasn’t ended, even though I stumble and fall. I get up and shake myself off, then pause and remember thoughtful prayer and patience. I will, with God’s help, continue.
The good news is that he keeps looking for us each and every time we fall into the mud.
Some trails are “eyes up” trails where you can enjoy the scenery as you stroll along. Other trails are “eyes down” trails where each step presents opportunity for harm. When choosing to walk these trails, I utilize a stick to help me stabilize my walk, I choose my footware carefully to protect my feet. And I stay focused.
The challenge is when strolling along I unexpectedly come to a rough spot on the trail. But if I start any trail with my stick and boots then I need not worry, as long as I stay focused.
In life, prayer stabilizes me, His Word shods my feet, and, like Peter, I keep my eyes on Jesus.
Lesson? Always start expecting the unexpected.
So very true. What I’ve also noticed is that you can become too comfortable with those roads that seem easy. You start caulking around and the next thing you know you’re tripping over a rock or stepping in a hole. Sometimes you really do just need to focus on walking.
my feet hurt for you.
They will improve.
